High altitude solo adventures are a passion of mine.

When I have been out of the mountains for too long, I start to feel restless.

I work a lot, and my work is also my passion, so I often find that I need to carve out space to blend these two passions together. I take that opportunity every time I can make it happen.

Even if I am tired. Jet lagged. I haven’t eaten, rested, or trained in the right way. I still go.

I know that the energy from the mountains will energize me and refuel my creativity, reground me, and bring me balance. I also love to continually challenge myself, make myself uncomfortable, and remind myself that doing hard things is part of growth.

This weekend, I am tackling a big climb, and I am out to beat my own speed record. The weather isn’t going to be great. And I have been in three time zones this week already. But I can’t wait to be out there. I have enough checked luggage on this trip to be bag shamed at every hotel check in, but that’s Ok. Adventures need the right gear.

Whatever you tackled this week, use the weekend to renew and reenergize. For me, that always starts with something that brings me joy and a sense of accomplishment. I can’t wait to be back in the mountains. So, here’s to refilling your personal cup of creativity this weekend – through whatever path you choose!
