I Don’t Chase Balance. I Chase Summits.

Before most people are awake, I’m pulling into the trailhead parking lot.
It’s dark. The road is deserted. My coffee is steaming in the cup holder.
I’m about to grind it out. I’ve got mad love for a steep, tough climb in the dark. It’s wild. Desolate. And absolutely exhilarating.
Here’s the thing:
There’s no applause at the summit. No spotlight.
Just the wind.
The view.
And the silence that’s mine alone.
What I’ve learned out there has shaped how I operate in all parts of my life.
And over time, I’ve built a set of practices - tested on trails and in boardrooms - that anyone can use.
Not everyone needs to climb mountains.
But everyone needs places that challenge them, strip away the noise, and show them what they’re made of.
Here’s what the mountain teaches, every single time:
• Start early. Clarity lives in the quiet hours.
• Prepare deeply. You don’t rise to your goals. You fall to your systems.
• Respect the terrain. Conditions change fast. Stay sharp. Stay adaptable.
• Move through fear. Confidence is built after the hard step, not before.
• Celebrate in silence. Let fulfillment, not applause, be your fuel.
If you’re building something bold personally or professionally find your summit practice.
Not a hobby.
Not a side escape.
A place that demands something from you. That sharpens your edge.
Don’t chase balance.
Chase growth.
